besides your family, friends are extremely important. They can make or break you. Like the saying goes, "you are who you surround yourself with."
Friendship to me has always been extremely easy since I consider myself an open (for the most part) person, very friendly and engaging.
I just never realized the friends you have could ultimately make or break you. This doesn’t just apply to college, this applies to everything in your life, especially who you surround yourself with in high school.
We are all so vulnerable and want to fit in and feel as though we are a part of something better and bigger than ourselves that we don’t necessarily see the people around us. You have to take a step back and evaluate if the people, “friends” you are around... are they on your level or slightly above you?
Never associate or surround yourself with friends who take more than what they give. Once they take as much as they want from you they will leave you standing alone. There are people who will be your friends just to get something out of you and use you to their advantage. Never give your all to your friends at first. They have to earn your trust and you have to see what their motives are... if they are pure or not.
There's too many wolves dressed as sheep out there, so choose wisely.
